How Host Payouts Work

Edited

Hosting with Luggage Drop turns your extra space into extra income. Here’s exactly how and when you get paid.

How You Earn with Luggage Drop

You earn money every time a Traveler completes a reservation at your Drop Spot. Your earnings come from a split of the luggage storage fee, after platform fees are deducted.

Here’s how it works:

Host Earnings = (Price per bag × number of bags) – Safety & Security Fee – Luggage Drop commission

The Safety & Security Fee is a fixed $0.95 per bag and covers DropGuard insurance, platform monitoring, and safety support services. The remaining balance is split between you and Luggage Drop based on your agreed rate (e.g. 50/50, 60/40, etc.).

Example:
Let’s say a Traveler books 1 bag for 1 day at a Drop Spot priced at $7.95.

  • $0.95 is retained as the Safety & Security Fee

  • The remaining $7.00 is split 50/50

  • You earn $3.50 per bag

This payout is automatically tracked and recorded in your Host Dashboard.

When You Get Paid

  • Payouts are processed automatically through Stripe

  • Most Hosts are paid on a weekly or Monthly, depending on your settings, and booking volume.

  • Each payout includes all completed reservations from the prior payout window

Your next scheduled deposit is visible anytime in your Host Dashboard.

How You Get Paid

Luggage Drop uses Stripe, which automatically divides booking fees between:

  • You (the Host)

  • Luggage Drop (the platform)

Once a reservation is marked as completed, your share is released and transferred to the bank account or debit card you set up during onboarding.

No invoicing. No follow-ups. It’s all automated.
