In certain situations, Luggage Drop HQ may arrange a delivery or transfer of a Traveler’s bags using Uber Direct. This secure, same-day delivery method is used when a bag needs to be relocated or returned due to a Drop Incident, late pickup, or special request.
When Uber Direct Is Used
You may receive an Uber Direct pickup request if:
- A Drop Incident occurs (e.g., the Traveler could not access the original Drop Spot)
- The Traveler paid for a delivery or reroute service
- A bag was left behind and needs to be returned
- Luggage Drop HQ is relocating bags to another Host location
All Uber Direct deliveries are arranged and paid for by Luggage Drop HQ. You will be notified directly when a pickup is scheduled.

Host Responsibilities for Uber Pickups
✅ Before Pickup
- Confirm the bag(s) involved in the delivery
- Double-check tags and booking info—only send what’s listed
- Ensure bags are zipped, sealed, and labeled
- If the bag was unclaimed or part of a Drop Incident, take a quick photo for your records
📦 Prepare for Hand-Off
- Keep the bag(s) near the front desk or designated pickup area
- Ensure the driver can collect the items without disrupting operations
Do not send any bags unless you receive a notification from HQ with a tracking link or order ID
🚗 When the Uber Driver Arrives
- Ask for their first name and Uber Direct order ID
- Match their info to what HQ provided
- Only release the bag(s) listed in the request
- Mark the reservation as “Picked Up via Uber” in your Host Portal or notify HQ
Pro Tip: Take a quick photo of the bag with the driver for extra recordkeeping.

- Never give bags to an unverified driver
- Do not arrange Uber pickups on your own—all deliveries must be coordinated by HQ
- You are not responsible for the bag once it’s handed off to Uber, but proper documentation is required
